The following is a series of videos produced by SJ Climate News that features interviews with Dr. Kenneth Lacovara, founding dean of the School of Earth & Environment at Rowan University. Dr. Lacovara, a paleontologist and geologist, is best known for his discovery of the dinosaur Dreadnoughtus, one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered and which lived in South America during the Late Cretaceous period. Dr. Lacovara also is the founder of the Edelman Fossil Park of Rowan University in Mantua, N.J.
In the video directly below, Dr. Lacovara discusses the theory of the sixth mass extinction and how it relates to climate change. The other video features his insights into the new museum at the Edelman Fossil Park, which is expected to open in 2023.
