Alliance for a Living Ocean organizes beach clean-ups efforts on Long Beach Island.

The Black Run Preserve is a 1,300 acre parcel of permanently preserved land in Evesham Township, located between the Marlton Lakes and Kings Grant neighborhoods.

Projects and programs include: the restoration of bay beaches for horseshoe crabs, migratory birds and people; the installation of intertidal oyster reefs; protection of water resources; and numerous other environmental projects in the Bayshore area.

The Burlington County Agricultural Center is a working farm as well as the site of weekly farmers markets, community gardens, demonstration gardens maintained by the Master Gardener Program, field plots maintained by Rutgers Cooperative Extension Service, and a commercial kitchen.

Burlington County Soil Conservation District
Burlington County Soil Conservation District (BCSCD) strives to educate and assist the public in achieving a higher responsibility to protect our natural resources. In cooperation with state and federal agencies, the BCSCD helps to ensure proper soil health and water quality by using various management tools. Whether you are a a farmer, developer, teacher, or an environmentally minded citizen, the BCSCD offers a variety of services, assistance and information for Burlington County residents.

The committee was assembled with the goal of providing guidance to the Camden County Board of Commissioners, municipal, and regional partners to improve the health of residents and visitors by reducing levels of contaminants.

Citizens United to Protect Maurice River engages in fieldwork, research, and education initiatives generating and contributing to a greater understanding of local environment and wildlife.

Crafts Creek & Spring Hill Brook Watershed Association was organized to protect the streams in Mansfield township, NJ. CCSHBWA is listed among New Jersey Watershed Organizations by the NJ Water Resources Research Institute and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection.

Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge
The refuge protects 48,000 acres of South NJ coastal habitats and flight paths for seasonal bird migration. They manage and restore habitats and monitor local plants and wildlife. They are open to the public and the protected lands posess multiple scenic trails.

Gloucester County Certified Gardeners Program
County residents can receive 60 hours of horticultural training (including tips about how to keep your garden “green”) and volunteer back 60 hours of their time at program events and activities.

Founded in 1978, this organization focuses on the rescue, rahabilitation, and release of marine animals. They also focus on responding to sea turtle strandings and disentanglements.

The Monarch Monitoring project was established in 1990 with the intention of resarch and educating people on the fall migration of the monarch butterfilies on the Atlantic coast. They focus ther time on the fall months.

The Pinelands is our country’s first National Reserve and a U.S. Biosphere Reserve of the Man and the Biosphere Program. This internationally important ecological region is 1.1 million acres in size and occupies 22% of New Jersey’s land area.

The Pinelands Presevation is an organization devoted to preserving the natural and historic resources of the New Jersey Pinelands. Addtionally they offer two programs that aim at fostering public understanding to the Pinelands.

Pompeston Creek Watershed Association
The Pompeston Creek Watershed Association was incorporated in 1963 to protect, conserve, and restore the natural resources of the Pompeston Creek watershed through education, scientific investigations, and research. In recent years, PCWA has: reactivated its water quality monitoring program; actively participated in the NJDEP Watershed Management Program; won grants; performed and maintains numerous streambank and habitat restorations; created, facilitated, and performs numerous school and community educational programs; and performed many stream cleanups.

Richard Stockton Coastal Research Center
The CRC works with the federal and state government on program with the goal to monitor and assess flood events, wetlands, coastal features, and habitats. They are also working on a program to restore beach habitats on NJ’s Deleware Bay shoreline after Hurricane sandy hit the area.

Saddler’s Woods Conservation Association
A unique urban forest that is partially old-growth, as well as yound woodlands, meadow, and wetlands, the nature preserve offers recreational opportunities to visitors as well as natural interpretation programs. Volunteers work to restore the woods and offer tours and educational programs.

The Local Chapters of the Sierra Club carry out its mission at the grassroots level, including promoting conservation, developing campaigns, organizing outings, educating and engaging members, endorsing local political candidates. To promote and encourage improvements in the production and marketing of all phases of the vegetable industry in the State of New Jersey. To disseminate knowledge of the growing and marketing of vegetables through cooperation with Rutgers Cooperative Extension (NJAES), NJ Dept. of Agriculture and U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, and all other existing organizations and committees working for or interested in the vegetable industry of the Garden State.
