Go Green Galloway is a group of volunteers in Galloway Township, Atlantic County, focused on promoting sustainability and protecting the environment. The group works on issues like encouraging native plant gardening, reducing plastic waste, saving energy, and raising awareness about wildlife habitats and water conservation.
One of the organization’s main projects is the Galloway Green Market, held from June to September, where local farmers, bakers, and crafters gather to promote eco-friendly businesses and gardening ideas.
The group also started the “Friends Along the Mullica” project, funded by a Sustainable Jersey grant, to bring together eight towns in Atlantic County to address environmental issues in the Mullica River Watershed. The project focuses on improving water quality, protecting wetlands, reducing litter, and conserving local plants and animals. Go Green Galloway partners with organizations like the US Fish and Wildlife Service and Rutgers University to educate the community and encourage the eight towns to work together to protect the watershed.
In addition to these projects, Go Green Galloway offers several committees where residents can get involved and help with environmental efforts. Monthly meetings at the Galloway Library invite everyone to participate and contribute to the cause. Through these initiatives, Go Green Galloway is inspiring people in South Jersey to take action and protect the environment.
