The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that Rowan University was selected to receive one of the first grants under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will provide a total of $100 million for pollution prevention projects.
The grant will provide $315,000 for a student-faculty industry partnership with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer through Rowan’s Engineering Clinics.
The project aims to “identify, develop and recommend safer alternative chemicals, and lower-energy and lower emission technologies that can be used in the early stages of pharmaceutical design and manufacturing,” according to a press release announcing the grant.
